Norbert Baksa has faced a massive backlash for his fashion shoot that features a model posing as a refugee in high-end clothing.
The Hungarian photographer has previously worked for big names like Elle, Playboy and Nike, but nothing he has done before has caused controversy quite like this.
He’s been heavily criticised over social media for glamorising the refugee crisis currently affecting millions of people fleeing war-torn countries.
In the Der Migrant series, the model poses against a fence symbolising the Hungarian border dressed in expensive clothing and taking selfies.
Baksa argues he’s highlighting all sides of the crisis and raising awareness
Der Migrant people: realize the complexity of the situation and address it in different angles! Neither pro nor con, raising awareness!
