This hilarious time-lapse video of a mother trying to get her super-cute twins off to bed pretty much sums up what it’s like to be a new parent. Exhausting.

Norwegian mum, Henriette Jonassen, recorded the video to show just how challenging bed-time could be with two toddlers.

Set, fittingly, to a Benny Hill soundtrack, the nightly ritual descends into farce with one toddler seeming to wake up just as the other has gone to sleep, in a never-ending cycle.

Jonassen wrote on her blog that the twins usually sleep in the same room but she thought she’d try something different as she’d been struggling to get them to sleep for a few weeks due to hot weather.

As she herself admits, ‘it turned out to be a bad idea’. Although she does add that it ‘gave her a good laugh’. Us too.

We’re just off for a lie-down.
